Validation of Chinese HY-2 satellite radar altimeter significant wave height

  • 摘要: 海洋二号(HY-2)卫星是中国第一颗海洋动力环境卫星。搭载于HY-2上的双频(Ku和C波段)雷达高度计有效地提供了超过3年(2011年10月1日至今)的业务化有效波高产品。本文利用美国国家浮标中心(NDBC)实测数据对HY-2高度计沿轨Ku波段有效波高数据进行了检验, 均方根误差和平均偏差分别为0.38 m和-0.13±0.35m;利用Jason-2对HY-2卫星高度计有效波高进行了交叉检验, 均方根误差和平均偏差分别为0.36 m和-0.22±0.28 m。为比较HY-2和Jason-2的检验统计结果, 在相同的方法下, 利用NDBC数据对Jason-2卫星高度计沿轨Ku波段有效波高进行了检验, 均方根误差和平均偏差分别为0.26 m和0.00±0.26 m, 该结果表明本文使用的检验方法是科学合理的。本文对逐月的HY-2和Jason-2有效波高分别进行了检验, Jason-2有效波高的平均偏差任何时段均接近于零;在2013年4月以前, HY-2有效波高平均偏差不低于-0.31 m, 之后也接近于零。这些检验结果表明:HY-2高度计沿轨有效波高的检验统计结果是可靠的, 且过去3年的有效波高均为高质量数据;HY-2有效波高质量在2013年4月得到了改善且具有了和Jason-2相当的精度。HY-2卫星雷达高度计提供的有效波高产品是有效的且可用于业务化应用。
